My Spring Festival
I was so excited about the Spring Festival coming. My family began to prepare it a week before. We bought lots of decorations, such as red lanterns, Spring Festival couplets, and flowers. We also cleaned our home carefully to get rid of any bad luck.
On the eve of the Spring Festival, my family members from different places gathered together for the reunion dinner. We chatted, laughed, and shared stories. The food was rich, including dumplings, fish, chicken, and vegetables. We also watched the Spring Festival Gala on TV, which is a popular tradition for Chinese.
During the Spring Festival, elders usually give red envelopes filled with money to the younger generations. I received lots of red envelopes from my parents, grandparents, and relatives. I felt so lucky and grateful because it means they wish me a good luck and happiness in the new year.
Besides the reunion dinner and getting red envelopes, there are many other activities we can do during the Spring Festival. We can visit temples, go to fairs, light fireworks and firecrackers, watch traditional performances, and play games with family members and friends. All these activities create a festive atmosphere and make us feel happy and energetic.
The Spring Festival means a lot to Chinese people, and I love this traditional holiday so much.
