As a freshman in college, learning English is essential for my academic and personal growth. In this process, I have been exposed to various ways of improving my English skills such as reading books, watching movies, and practicing speaking with friends.
Reading has helped me with my vocabulary and grammar. Every day, I try to read for at least 30 minutes, focusing on different genres such as fiction, nonfiction, and news articles. By doing this, I can broaden my knowledge of English and also learn about different cultures.
Watching movies and TV shows in English has also been a great help in improving my listening and speaking skills. I can hear the way native English speakers talk and intonate their language. It helps me to understand better and communicate more effectively.
Lastly, practicing speaking with friends has helped me to overcome my shyness and fear of speaking in front of others. It allows me to practice the language in a relaxed and fun atmosphere.
Overall, learning English is a long process, but utilizing various methods such as reading, watching movies, and practicing speaking can make a significant difference in improving my language skills.
